Business Investment Visa
This visa category replaces the Entrepreneur Visa Category and will open in November 2025.
There will be two investment pathways:
NZD $1 million investment in an existing business, for a 3-year work-to-residence pathway
NZD $2 million investment in an existing business, for a 12-month fast-track to residence pathway
Applicants can purchase a business outright on either visa pathway or acquire at least 25% of the business, provided they meet the minimum $1 million or $2 million investment thresholds.
Standard health, character and English requirements will apply.

Active Investor Plus Visa
To be eligible for an Active Investor Visa you must invest between $5 million and $15 million into New Zealand approved investments. Acceptable investments carry different weightings towards the investment thresholds.
The Active Investor Plus Visa is a resident visa. To be eligible for a permanent resident visa, you must spend at least 117 days in New Zealand as a resident visa holder during the four year investment period.
An applicant can include their partners and dependent children in their application.
